A Chance To Shine

5 Intense Days: The College Gridiron Showcase from Mint Farm Films on Vimeo.

Isiah Swann, Dartmouth's All-America corner, is on the roster for the College Gridiron Showcase today through Wednesday at McNair Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.

What exactly is the College Gridiron Showcase, which bills itself as the "first major all-star event of the college football postseason?" This is from its website:
CGS is a college post-season showcase for NFL Draft-eligible players across all college football divisions. CGS selects via a panel of football experts. Players come in for 5 days and 4 nights to be evaluated by professional football league scouts. The players receive professional coaching, mentoring, life coaching and seminars that will benefit them as they move forward in their professional lives in or out of football.
Since 2015, over 470 CGS participants have had an opportunity to extend their careers through the NFL draft, free agency, rookies camp invitations and tryouts, with several others being drafted or signed to play in the CFL.
Essentially a combine, the CGS is a mix of players from schools like George Fox University and McKendree to Syracuse, Washington and Florida State.

While there is no game associated with the CGS, players are divided into rosters named Wranglers and Desperadoes. Find the rosters HERE and the event website HERE.

The only player Dartmouth faced during the season who will join Swann at the event is Colgate corner Abu Daramy-Swaray.

Swann's teammate Zach Sammartino is in the event's Small School Showcase, "bidding to earn a spot into CGS' 4-day event." (LINK) The offensive lineman is joined by a couple of players from Colgate and others from Holy Cross, Lafayette and Georgetown.
