Twitter Comes Through Again

Another day, another name shared by a handful of Dartmouthcentric Twitter detectives ;-)

Today's new entry onto the list of Dartmouth commits is Ross Parrish, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound tight end from Anderson High School in Cincinnati. Find the Tweet announcing his decision HERE and his highlights HERE.

Parrish, who is reported to have offers from Indiana and Yale, among others, is the subject of a story in which his high school coach calls him a "once-in-a-lifetime student-athlete." Find that story HERE.

Given the impending graduation of Davis Brief it will be interesting to see if, when the recruiting list is finalized, it includes a punter. But the way Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz sees it, finding one is easier said than done. After noting that there were more than 40 Australian punters in the FBS last fall, the veteran coach had this to say during a press conference (LINK):
“If any of you guys young have a kid, train ‘em to punt. Train them to punt. Forget about golf. Forget about  offensive line. Punt. A good future there.”

Expect roughly 10 more high school seniors to make Dartmouth the call in the next several weeks – and if Twitter is to believed, some of them may announce in the next few days ;-)

In case you are wondering, the regular "Signing Day" is Feb. 5, two weeks from today.
This is obviously old news but per the CFL's Montreal Alouettes' website (LINK):
The team ... announced that Canadian running back Ryder Stone is retiring. Selected in the fifth round (38th total) in 2018, Stone played 21 games with the Alouettes, carrying the ball 27 times for 124 yards and one touchdown. The former Dartmouth University (sic) Big Green also caught nine passes for 68 yards.
