The National Football Foundation had a piece last week headlined, NCAA D1 Academic Progress Report Showcases Success of College Football. From the posting (LINK):

According (to) the NCAA, football student-athletes who play in the Football Bowl Subdivision have a  Graduation Success Rate of 81% Success Rate versus 69% for the general student body at Division I Institutions.

Dartmouth is one of four Division I schools to appear in a listing titled, The Top 25 Football Teams (2020-2021, Multi-Year Rate):

COLUMBIA (1,000)
Clemson (999)
Mississippi (999)
Alabama (997)
Northwestern (995)
Rice (994)
U.S. Air Force Academy (994)
Washington (993)
DARTMOUTH (992)
Elon (992)
Wisconsin (992)
Ohio State (991)
Cincinnati (991)
Utah (991)
Boise State (990)

Dayton (989)
Colgate (988)
Holy Cross (988)
HARVARD (988)
Louisville (988)

Green Alert Take: The APR and GSR are a little confusing (click HERE for an explanation of the Academic Progress Report) but this much is certain. It's better to be on that list than not on that list. Having said that, there are several serious eye-openers just below Columbia, huh?

EXTRA POINT
Happy official first day of Summer!

Speaking of which, during my early morning hikes I listen to a selection of podcasts including The Tony Kornheiser Show. Catching up on the podcast yesterday, TK reported that when the vocalist on this song was a student at New Jersey's Blair Academy in the early '60s he submitted it as an independent project and the teacher gave him a D+ grade.

I don't know what happened to that teacher but the fellow who wrote the song with his brother has done all right for himself and the song, well, it's done OK for itself. ;-)
