Yesterday's note on the announcement by Princeton coach Bob Surace's quarterback son AJ that he will play his college football at Rutgers was a reminder that Yale coach Tony Reno's quarterback son, Dante, has announced for South Carolina. The younger Reno had 17 FBS offers on his sheet including Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Iowa, Syracuse, Kentucky, Louisville, NC State, Virginia and Vanderbilt.

EXTRA POINT
Scrabble is without question my favorite board game but as you know it can be really, really frustrating when you have a rack of bad letters.

Ah, but it can be a lot of fun when the right tiles come along.

Mrs. BGA and I have had the board out the last couple of evenings and in our final game last night the stars aligned. Already holding an "S" and a blank, I pulled a "U" in the same draw as the "Q." At another point I held the "J" and the "X" at the same time, allowing me to lay JINX down on a triple-word score.

The bottom line: I had words worth 82, 54 and 52 points and might have cracked the 400-point mark if I had kept the pedal on the floor the last few turns.

Mrs. BGA asked if I wanted to play again but I know how that goes so I simply smiled.
