Everything's Jake

Former Dartmouth offensive lineman/tight end Jake Guidone '21, had a pretty good day yesterday:

Princeton wide receiver Andrei Iosivas, was chosen in the sixth round by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 206th pick of the draft. His estimated signing bonus per HERO ports is $159,384.

All totaled, 11 FCS players were taken in the draft, the fewest since 1994.

There are sure to be at least a few more, but as of this morning the various FCS free agent trackers are listing just two Ivy League products as earning undrafted free agent contracts or camp invitations. Defensive lineman Truman Jones, thought to be a fringe draft prospect, signed with the Chiefs and Princeton offensive lineman Henry Byrd agreed to terms with the Broncos. Harvard running back Aidan Borguet and Princeton receiver Dylan Classi are widely expected to join the ranks soon.

From a story in Colorado's Daily Camera regarding the sea change Deion Sanders is bringing to college football (LINK):

(T)he idea that all 42 players who have hit the transfer portal the past two weeks couldn’t have helped the revamped Buffs is a stretch. Are Na’im Rodman and Jalen Sami really less viable options on the defensive line than guys from Fresno State, Old Dominion and Dartmouth?

Ouch.

Green Alert Take: Heard a commentator on the radio suggest that every statement "Coach Prime" makes is being archived by lawyers.

With 30 prospects and their families in attendance, Dartmouth football put on a show at practice Saturday morning. Read all about it on BGA Premium.

There was also a show on the scoreboard where visitors could read about Dartmouth's Ivy League-record 20 conference titles, a 38-12 record over the past five years and the college having the "happiest and most successful alumni" per one ranking.

And when the prospects and their families walked into Floren Varsity House, they were greeted by these fellows, who might have been a little stiff but looked sharp modeling uniform combinations:

Dartmouth baseball ended its school-record losing streak yesterday as Clark Gilmore went the distance in a 2-1 win over Brown. Gilmore, who has both Big Green wins this year, had a a couple of fielding gems that each could make ESPN's top plays but the Ripley's piece,  is they came on back-to-back pitches believe it or not. EXTRA POINT
The snow in these parts is gone except, as I look out the window, for the peak of Mount Moosilauke. Even with the temperature in Utah hitting 70 degrees yesterday, it will be a while before That Certain Dartmouth '14 will be able to bicycle all around Bryce Canyon National Park, where she hangs her Smoky Bear hat these days:

By the way, TCD'14 and Griff the Wonder Dog both celebrated birthdays last week. HBD!
