Grad Transfers In The News

Former Dartmouth wide receiver/return specialist Jamal Cooney, who went into the portal a year ago before returning to the Big Green, has found his new home the second time around – Missouri State.

The Bears, who play in the Missouri Valley Conference, open their season Sept. 1 at FBS Kansas and finish it against defending FCS national champion South Dakota State. They finished 5-6 last year under Bobby Petrino, who stepped down to become offensive coordinator at Texas A&M and has been replaced by Ryan Beard.

Graduation is tomorrow and a cornerback who will play this fall as a grad transfer at the University of Delaware will serve as a class marshal before he picks up his diploma in government. From the story (LINK):

Tyron Herring was the president of the Men of Color Alliance and an executive member of the NAACP. He spent his off terms interning with his member of Congress while working with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority and was an editor for the Dartmouth Law Journal. He participated in the Rockefeller Leadership Program, was a four-year varsity football athlete, received the nomination for the Kenneth Archibald Prize and was inducted into the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society.

Favorite Place on Campus: First Floor of Baker-Berry Library

“First floor Berry at first was mandatory for study hall with football but became a significant part of my social and intellectual engagement with friends on campus. Times decompressing from the day and catching up with friends have become fond memories that I will always cherish.”

EXTRA POINT
When we drove to Colorado in 2020 our '84 VW camper made it over an 11,112-foot pass on I-70. As you might expect, it was pretty slow going up and a little scary coming back down. Those runaway truck ramps are there for a reason.

Wolf Creek Pass east of Durango wasn't quite as high (10,857 feet) and coming down wasn't nearly as hairy because the VW is back home hibernating in our garage. That's not to say there isn't some excitement on the way down, regardless of what you are driving!
