Double-Figures

The countdown to the season-opener is about to hit double-figures for the Dartmouth football team as this graphic from the program reminds us:

Jake Novak of the Roar Lions blog continues his first-person review of Ivy League football venues with a look at Columbia HERE and Cornell HERE. Dartmouth is next.

From a story out of Boulder headlined Projecting Colorado’s depth chart: Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders has built the Buffs in his image (LINK):

Shane Cokes is one of the leaders on this team and is looking to throw his name into NFL Draft conversations after joining Colorado as a grad transfer. At Dartmouth, Cokes was a second-team All-Ivy League selection that started all 10 games and had 53 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks. He will be one of the Buffs’ most important players on either side of the ball this season.

From a story about Ahmir Braxton, the two-year member of the Dartmouth football team now battling serious legal issues (LINK):

A Dartmouth College spokesperson said on Thursday that Braxton, who was taken into custody at Dartmouth student housing by Lebanon Police on May 19, is “no longer enrolled” at Dartmouth.

EXTRA POINT
It was obvious from the billboards along the highway that Oz Museum was a tourist trap designed to draw people off Interstate 70 in Kansas. We knew that and enjoyed the stop anyway.

What we didn't know is that it would introduce us to the really delightful little town of Wamego, Kan., 15 miles east of Kansas State University. Now, I'm not going to start Wildcat Alert.com and we're not about to move to Kansas anytime soon. But if we were, Wamego would get a good long look.

The photo below is of an alley that leads from the Oz Museum to the beautiful 15-acre City Park one block off downtown. Opening onto this Yellow Brick Road was a bakery/restaurant called Friendship House where Mrs. BGA had a strawberry cheese Danish and coffee, and I had a large oatmeal chocolate-chip cookie and large milk all for $7.50. The cost was so low that Mrs. BGA actually asked, "Is that for everything?"
