Find a full release out of Dartmouth about Ejike Adele being chosen one of the three finalists for the Bushnell Cup award as the Ivy League's defensive player of the year HERE. From that release:
Adele led the Big Green in both sacks (6.0) and tackles-for-loss (12.0) while his 54 tackles were tied for second on the team. He had some huge games, including at Columbia while he finished with nine tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks. At Princeton, he had 10 tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks. Adele finished third in the Ivy League in sacks, while leading the league in tackles-for-loss (which was also good for 23rd nationally).
Columbia defensive back Hayden McDonald and Harvard D-back Ty Bartrum are the other defensive finalists.
Adele, a senior who intends to continue his playing career next fall as a grad transfer, has posted on social media that he has already fielded offers from UTEP, New Hampshire, Samford, Towson, Chattanooga and East Tennessee.
The three finalists for the league's offensive player of the year are Cornell quarterback Jameson Wang, Harvard wide receiver Cooper Barkate and Penn running back Malachi Hosley. Both Barkate and Hosley are in the portal. Barkate is a junior on track to pick up his degree in May and can have two years of eligibility as a grad transfer. Hosley is a sophomore.

Speaking of grad transfers, former Dartmouth defensive end Charlie Looes isn't tapped as the Rice University Transfer of the Year, but earns an "honorable mention" in a story in the Rice Thresher HERE.

National Signing Day in February used to be almost a national holiday for those who follow college football although it was anything but a holiday for BGA Daily. I used to spend every waking minute at the keyboard tracking down photos and stories about high school seniors "signing" with Dartmouth.
With the establishment of the "early" Signing Day in December, the decision this year to move it earlier in the month, and now spreading it out over several days Signing Day has been watered down so as to be little more than just another day at the FCS level. That said a story in the Greenville News has a list of Where South Carolina top 40 high school football players are headed and includes Dartmouth-bound quarterback Jaden Cummings at No. 39.
Editor's Note: As always, if you have "Signing Day" celebration photos of players headed this way next fall, I'll post 'em if you send 'em along. To send a photo and recruiting information along, click HERE

EXTRA POINT
The second time I bicycled across the country I was pedaling up to a mountain pass at 10,000 feet when a car slowed alongside me and a passenger said they would leave a can or a bottle for me at the top of the mountain as a reward for making it that far. Can't remember which but I do remember they left something for me.
I found myself thinking about that a couple of days ago when I was doing my daily hike up our local mountain and saw an unopened can of beer tucked in the snow part of the way up the slope, and an unopened can of Twisted Tea in the dnow near the top. I have no idea if they were left by someone offering the same kind of encouragement to keep going that I received all those years ago, but the idea made me smile.
So did Mother Nature's addition to the "squirrel" that I adorned with googly eyes in the summer:
