Good Luck, Drew

Drew Galbraith, who headed up Dartmouth's Peak Performance and was a familiar face around Memorial Field as the athletic department's administrator for the Big Green football program, has stepped down after a successful seven-year run as athletic director at Trinity College to take over as senior vice president of player health for the NBA. Trinity has a release about his move HERE.

Galbraith, who spent 14 years at Dartmouth (LINK), went on to be named the Division III athletic director of the year in 2023-24 for his work at Trinity (LINK).

Those around the Big Green football program who knew him would not be surprised either by the success Trinity enjoyed during his time at the "Little Ivy," or by the respect shown for him in this video clip:

Green Alert Take: As the senior writer for PEAK magazine, I had the good fortune to work closely with Drew for a number of years. And in his role with the football program he was always professional, helpful and trusting that I would do things the right way. It was a huge loss to the Dartmouth athletic department and the football program when he moved on to Trinity. The NBA is extremely lucky to get him.

It's flurrying out there as I write these words but spring is on the way. Yesterday's "save the date" reminder for the Dartmouth golf outing was one sign. Here's another:

And if spring is on the way, by definition the same must be true of spring football. And that means . . . winter conditioning. This shot is from Dartmouth's social media:

EXTRA POINT

I had something  fun planned for this space today but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see it. That's because of this during last night's edition of Jeopardy. Under the category CEO's for $1,200 was the following clue:

None of the contestants picked up on the hint in the first line intended to tip them off that the correct response was Anthem.

While it's doubtful they recognized the name Gail Boudreaux '82, anyone who follows Dartmouth women's basketball would know the name Gail Koziara Boudreaux.

She is the college's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, was the Ivy League player of the year three times, and won the Ivy League shot put title four years in a row. She earned All-America both on the hardwood and for track and is the mother of Evan Boudreaux, the Ivy League men's basketball rookie of the year at Dartmouth who went on to play two seasons as a grad transfer at Purdue. In 2022 she was awarded the Theodore Roosevelt Award, the NCAA's highest honor as a varsity athlete who "who went on to become a distinguished citizen of national reputation based on outstanding life accomplishments."
