The local Valley News has a story headlined New Hanover eatery to honor late Dartmouth football coach. From the story about the restaurant that will be named after Buddy Teevens (LINK):
To honor the late coach, Molly’s owner Jennifer Packard is naming her second restaurant venture after him.

Buddy T’s Grill and Sports Bar, a collaboration with Molly’s chef Ryan O’Day, is slated to open in mid-January in the Lebanon Street location formerly occupied by Dunk’s Sports Grill, Packard said.

“I think it’s going to be a great place … for alumni when they come to town. I think it’s going to be a real celebration of Dartmouth sports and beyond,” Kirsten Teevens said.

Buddy T's Grill and Sports Bar will open across Lebanon Street from the Hopkins Center.

Have to admit this caught me by surprise:

Linebacker Marques White, who began his collegiate career by playing in four games at Dartmouth in 2019, isn't done yet. An All-Ivy League selection with the Big Green in 2021 and 2023, White played at McNeese State as a grad transfer in 2024 and moved on to UMass. Per his social media he is considering an offer from the University of Virginia after a strong season in Amherst.

From a UMass release headlined Four Minutemen Earn 2025 All-MAC Honors (LINK):

Graduate student defensive lineman Marques White earned a spot on the All-MAC Second Team Defense.

And . . .

White totaled 50 tackles on the season, including 18 solo and 32 assisted. He posted a team-leading 11 tackles for loss and a team-best five sacks, while adding a pass breakup, four QB hurries and two forced fumbles. At Central Michigan, White matched a career-high of three tackles for a loss of 10 yards. White's 11 tackles for loss are the 10th in the MAC.

In a sign of the times in this era of college football, a look at White's Dartmouth bio reveals he will turn 26 years of age late next season.

Dartmouth sports publicity catches you up on the news you might have already seen HERE Tuesday about the Big Green's Phil Steele honorees, including tight end Chris Corbo and offensive tackle Delby Lemieux. The release notes that Corbo has been named to the All-America first team by four outlets: Phil Steele, the Associated Press, Stats Perform and the American Football Coaches Association. (LINK)

EXTRA POINT

The temperature was in the single digits when I was the first person to do the entire back loop of my usual hike up the mountain yesterday. To be honest, I wasn't excited about hitting the trail but getting back up the mountain is penance for a little too enthusiastically attacking all the goodies in the house over the holidays. I'm not all that thrilled about getting back out there today but at least it will be a nice break from doomscrolling latest headlines.
