Cortez Hankton, who Buddy Teevens called a future star when he gave him his first fulltime coaching gig, is heading to Ohio State as the Buckeyes’ new wide receivers coach. And John Perry, the Big Green's innovative offensive coordinator under John Lyons, is now the wide receivers coach at Texas A&M.
#
Hankton, a former NFL wide receiver, coached at Dartmouth from 2012-2014 before moving on to Vanderbilt, Georgia for four years and LSU from 2022 until this year. The New Orleans native served first as Brian Kelly’s pass game coordinator and receivers coach at LSU before assuming the role of co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach.
Hankton will be the second former Dartmouth coach on staff at Ohio State. Wendy Laurent moved on to Columbus as assistant wide receivers coach last year after three seasons with the Big Green.

Perry, who coached at Dartmouth from 1999-2004, spent seven years on staff with the Houston Texans, first as tight ends coach and later as wide receivers coach. He’s also made stops at Delaware, Rutgers, Brown, New Hampshire and Georgetown, and served as head coach for five years at Merrimack. The former New Hampshire wide receiver standout and basketball player is the older brother of current Brown coach James Perry.

EXTRA POINT
Broke out the super glue to fix a broken game piece from Christmas and of course got some of the stuff on my left index finger where it quickly dried. I tried peeling it off to no avail. Then scraping it off. No luck. Then gently sliding the finger across some fine sandpaper. Nope. Although I pretty much forgot about the glue, it wasn't until the next day that the tincture of time allowed me to sign onto my computer with the affected finger. Sure glad I knew the password so I could bypass using my finger to sign in.
