Latest Whispers: Broncos Eye Fiedler

Another quiet day on the news front. From a subscription-only Denver Broncos site: "The team is also looking for a veteran backup quarterback and is said to have their eyes on Jay Fiedler." In the weeks leading up to his release and the days since the Jets let him go, the Bengals, 49ers, Patriots and Broncos have all been said to have an interest in the Dartmouth graduate. In a perfect scenario where all those teams made an offer, which would Fiedler pick? A lot of people would probably guess the Patriots, where he would be able to remain in the Northeast and maybe get a Super Bowl ring as a backup to Tom Brady. My guess: He might well make his first West Coast stop. I've known Jay for a long time and he wants to play and not watch a Pro Bowl quarterback. My guess is that he'd see a chance to work his way onto the field in San Francisco and that would hold sway. ... The next in the series of "10 Questions" with an incoming recruit will run Monday.
