A quick story should serve as a word of warning for newbie Dartmouth fans intending to tune in.
With a good deal of talk about the 2015 night game between top Ivy League teams possibly selling out, Mrs. BGA jumped the gun and bought a ticket for the game online. (I suggested to her after hearing that she had bought the ticket in advance that she might have saved the online fee by buying her ticket at the gate because it was most assuredly not going to sell out, which it did not. Attendance was listed as 13,058. It might have been higher than announced but it was nowhere near a sellout.)
But I digress.
Not long after the game Mrs. BGA received an email from Harvard asking her to evaluate her experience purchasing her ticket online. In a space left for comments, as she recalled it this morning, she wrote:
"I respectfully request that in the future you shorten the length of games to 59:21."She said she did not get a response ;-)
Here are highlights from the game:
Green Alert Take: Even just watching those highlights it is a reminder about how magical Dalyn Williams was at quarterback.
Green Alert Take III: It would be a hilarious tit-for-tat response to Harvard's decision to show the 2015 game on Twitter if Dartmouth were to show last fall's on Twitter. I hope they do it!
Green Alert Take IV: Perhaps a Harvard fan watching a Dartmouth replay of last year's contest would recommend games be shortened to 59:59.

Speaking of athletics in Beantown, Boston College Athletic Director Martin Jarmond has stepped down after three years to accept the position as AD at UCLA.![]() |
| Brian Mann |
Former Dartmouth quarterback Brian Mann '02 is the Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Development Officer for Cal Athletics. (LINK) Prior to working at Cal, the native of Canton, Mass., worked in similar capacities at Rice for four years. He was in Dartmouth athletic administration for five years, first as director of operations for football, then as Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations in 2011 (among other duties overseeing the Friends of Dartmouth Football). He then assumed the role of Managing Director for Leadership Giving in the Dartmouth Office of Advancement.
As someone with deep New England roots, a graduate of an Ivy League school with more than a decade's experience at three high academic universities, and as a product of Xaverian Brothers High School, Mann would seem to check some very important boxes for the Jesuit university.

EXTRA POINTI don't know about you but I'm not a fan of the "snooze" function on a clock radio or cell phone. Mrs. BGA is a huge devotee of the function but it just annoys me. Honestly, if you find waking up so painful why in the world would you want to do it three or four or five times each morning? It makes absolutely no sense to me. Of course, I'm famous for being able to fall asleep on a moment's notice and virtually always wake up before the alarm goes off the first time.
By the way, have you ever wondered why the traditional snooze alarm is nine minutes instead of 10? It is explained HERE.
