A New Teammate

The Mobile Versatile Player, aka the MVP, is the subject of a PRWeb story under the headline, MVP Robotics Partners with Columbia Tech for World-Class Product Development & Manufacturing Services. Learn the latest about the tackling dummy developed at Dartmouth from an idea proposed by Big Green coach Buddy Teevens HERE.

Somehow while the world was spinning out of control this spring I missed the news that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was named the MVP's, "Chief Football Advisor." Wilson, of course, is the son of Harry Wilson '77, a onetime Dartmouth receiver whose career overlapped with that of Teevens. Russell Wilson Tweeted this during the summer:

Cleveland.com has a story under the headline, Browns’ Callie Brownson on the historic NFL day in Cleveland, on Kevin Stefanski predicting she’ll be a head coach, and more

The web arm of the Plain Dealer has that story with the former Dartmouth assistant – now the Chief of Staff for Browns' coach Kevin Stefanski – HERE.

Wikipedia has pages for each Harvard football rivalry including a color chart of game results. The Dartmouth-Harvard page was probably pretty hard for Big Green fans to call up until the last two years. Check it out HERE.

And while I'm at it, I just discovered Winsipedia, which describes itself as, "Visual college football database with overviews and team comparisons for every FBS team using all-time records and historical data." It's a terrific time waster and well worth a visit. Check it out HERE.

Green Alert Take: The Winsipedia comparisons between teams are fun. If they also included FCS teams it might take away some of the sting from the loss of the terrific College Football Data Warehouse. Never saw the Warehouse? Check out a page salvaged by the Wayback Machine HERE.

EXTRA POINT

This is not what I had intended to write about today, but what I planned will have to wait.

I picked up the remote and switched away from the Yankees-Indians playoff game last night at 9. When Oct. 15 rolls around I won't make the same mistake. I plan to be watching the National League Championship Series Game 4 or the ALCS Game 5 if necessary, even if I haven't the slightest interest in the teams involved. That’s all I’ll say.
