It's A different Time

For the past however many years I've had an opportunity to meet freshman football parents on the day before the players officially report. Many have become friends. This year, of course, everything is different. Not even the coaches were meeting with them. Not in person, at least.

Thanks to an old friend for sharing this shot of a Zoom session featuring incoming first-year players, parents and head coach Buddy Teevens:

From a Giants.com story about the NFL team's last intrasquad scrimmage (LINK):
The final drive of the scrimmage featured Alex Tanney. Pressures and sacks by Kyler Fackrell and Niko Lalos stopped his first attempt short, but the offense was allowed to reload the drive.

EXTRA POINT

Mrs. BGA finished her state collection Thursday and we found a community park in rural Kansas that not only allowed us to camp for free but let us plug in our '84 VW camper's fridge!

We had spent the early part of the day on I-70 but then headed about 30 miles north to a two-lane road paralleling the Interstate where we scored the sweet campsite. There's always so much more to see off the highway than on.

We even heard a few calls from what sounded for all the world like a high school football game wafting through the air. If they play more than eight-man I'd be surprised.

Here's the VW and the campsite:

Tonight we should be camping on Colorado's Front Range and tomorrow we'll see if we can make it up over a pass or two topping 10,000 feet before make it to Gunnison for a reunion with That Certain Dartmouth '14. Stay tuned.
