Of Dartmouth And The NFL

Niko Lalos had two tackles yesterday as the Giants dropped a 27-13 decision to the Ravens. Former teammate Matt Kaskey was on the Panthers' active roster but did not get into the team's 20-13 win over Washington.

With Lalos and Kaskey both on active rosters you may be wondering about the last time Dartmouth had two active players in the NFL. That was in 2005 when quarterback Jay Fiedler '94 appeared in nine games with the Jets and tight end/fullback Casey Cramer '04 got into one game with the Panthers.

The last time Dartmouth has three players in the NFL at the same time? That was 1998 when Fiedler appeared in five games with the Minnesota Vikings, linebacker Zack Walz '98 played in 16 games as a rookie with the Cardinals and safety Lloyd Lee '98 saw action in eight games with the Chargers in his lone season as an NFL player.

Following up on yesterday's mention of two prominent Division I special teams coaches whose background traces to Dartmouth, here are the Big Green's season leaders for kick returns and punt returns (ranked by yardage):

EXTRA POINT

As Mrs. BGA can tell you, I can be pretty petty about little things like people double-spacing after the period at the end of a sentence. Maybe that's why I find this graphic from a blog post headlined How Many Spaces Should Be After a Period? (LINK) pretty funny:

But for the record, I offer the following from that same post:
As of April 24, 2020, Microsoft has settled the great space debate, and sided with everyone who believes one space after a period is correct, not two. The software giant has started to update Microsoft Word to highlight two spaces after a period as an error, and to offer a correction to one space.

As a dedicated one-spacer, I rest my case.

Now if I could just get folks to stop using the tab key to indent paragraphs . . . .
