Willkommen

Tweeting his intention to join the Dartmouth football program is 6-foot-5, 250-pound lineman Konstantin Spörk of the Cologne (Germany) Crocodiles, Fork Union Military Academy and Philllips Andover:

Get to know him below:

From a Fork Union blurb last fall:
Cadet Private Konstantin Spörk, from Cologne, Germany is a member of Delta Company.  Cadet Konstantin did an outstanding job this week filling in for an injured player. He not only took on his own reps, but the reps of the injured player. He is a team captain of the PG Football team and leads by example. He made the honor roll because of his 4.0 GPA in Maj. Burger's Statistics class. Bravo Zulu Cadet Spörk.

Q Jones, the Dartmouth running back recruit from Colorado, has been chosen the Gazette Preps 2020 Fall Football Peak Performer of the Year. From the story (LINK):

“My journey through adversity has been so many things, and I’ve honestly kind of gotten used to it growing up and having to fight through it,” said Jones, who attended protests in September that helped reverse the state’s decision to postpone the fall season. “It’s kind of one of those things that motivates me more on the football field and in the classroom because I know people are watching and I know that I have a lot of siblings, especially my little sister who watches me and they know everything I’ve gone through.”

Editor's Note: There are three common errors in recruiting stories. First, newspapers and websites refer to Dartmouth University. The Gazette avoided that mistake. Second, reference is made to football scholarships. Again, kudos to the Gazette for dodging that one. And finally, stories often refer to incoming student-athletes as intending to be business majors. Oops. The Gazette missed on that one. Dartmouth does not offer a business major. CLICK HERE to see the college's full list of majors.

From the pandemic sports madness department via the AP (LINK):

Army went from left out of the bowls to replacing Tennessee in the Liberty Bowl on Monday night, hours after the Volunteers withdrew because of COVID-19 test results.

The Black Knights, who had been committed to the Independence Bowl since October before the game was called off, will now play West Virginia in Memphis, Tennessee, on Dec. 31.

Army, which was 9-2, had been on the outside looking in while 2-and teams were going bowling. Only in 2020!

EXTRA POINT
We are having a fancy new kitchen faucet installed today. After buying it I watched a YouTube video of someone going through the installation process step-by-step, and that was all I needed to see to know we better call a plumber.

While he's here we're having him address a few small issues that we've lived with since we moved in. The thought all along had been it would make more sense to batch jobs and bring him here once than to pay for two or three visits.

When he said, "That's fine, I've got half a day," I started wondering.

But hey, at least we'll have a new kitchen faucet, right?
