Looking Ahead

Tired of waiting for next fall, junior tight end Robbie Mangas got a jump on the next possible Ivy League football season by fashioning this Dartmouth NCAA Football 21 Trailer:

Also looking ahead to a return to the field is sophomore wide receiver Jamal Cooney, who would seem to have read the Dartmouth record book per this Tweet (LINK):

For what it's worth, the Dartmouth record for receiving yards in a season is 1,076 by John Hyland in 1993. Only Hyland, Craig Morton '89 (1,063 yards),  Jack Daly '84 (1,034) and Casey Cramer ''04 (1,017) have topped 1,000 yards in Big Green history.

Cooney saw limited action as a freshman in 2019 with two catches for 15 yards but as his Twitter description reminds us, he likes to "Dream Big."

Sept. 25 Dartmouth opponent Sacred Heart opens its spring season today at Duquesne. The game is available on ESPN+ at 1 p.m.

The Concord Monitor has old friend Allen Lessels' follow about New Hampshire's disappointing loss to Albany HERE. Dartmouth will play the Wildcats on Oct. 16.

EXTRA POINT
It was a brisk 8 degrees when I brought Griff the Wonder Dog outside for his morning constitutional. As he was doing his business I couldn't help but think that two years ago to the day Mrs. BGA and I were waking the the sound of Pacific Ocean waves breaking on the beach at the bottom of the cliff where we were camped and looking forward to another 70-degree day.

As the old song says, "If the good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise," we'll be back at our SoCal hideaway a year from now to soak up some sun before the start of spring football. I can't wait.
