The Yale Daily News, which has moved from down in the pack to the top spot among Ivy League school newspapers with regard to coverage of pandemic-related sports news, has a story headlined Recruiting consultants foresee no major changes to Ivy recruiting despite canceled competition (LINK).
The YDN subhead summarizes the story: Despite the ongoing cancellation of Ancient Eight sports as other conferences get back to games, college recruiting consultants interviewed by the News largely believe the allure of an Ivy League degree will remain persuasive for high school prospects.
Green Alert Take: Only time will tell if the Ivy League's extended sabbatical from NCAA competition will hurt the conference in the recruiting arena. This much is a lead pipe cinch: It won't help.

EXTRA POINT
TigerBlog has a column today wishing his friend, the great American writer John McPhee, a happy 90th birthday. (LINK)
Like TB I'm a huge fan of McPhee's work, including the writing he's done on geology, which is why I went online and bought a pristine copy of one of his out-of-print books last year as a unique gift. I asked TigerBlog if he would have the author sign it as a gift for That Dartmouth '14, an educational ranger in the National Park System who studied earth science and has a collection of McPhee's books. TB kindly agreed to do the favor.
Long story short, TigerBlog came through and mailed the signed book, along with a copy of his own novel, to our PO box. In a bizarre twist, when the package arrived here only TB's novel was inside. The signed McPhee book had slid out of the envelope somewhere, and the mailer apparently was resealed sans the book.
So if you happen to be at a used book sale somewhere and see a copy of Assembling California signed to Kelly, would you pick it up and mail it this way? I'll even reimburse you. Just do me a favor and put a little extra tape on the envelope ;-)
