Elsewhere among Dartmouth opponents . . .

Harvard 24, Cornell 10
Trailing at the half, 7-3, Harvard (4-0, 2-0) scored touchdowns on its first two possessions of the third quarter and tacked on an insurance TD in the fourth to survive upset-minded Cornell (0-4). The Crimson lost two fumbles and threw an interception while the Big Red did not suffer a turnover. The vaunted Harvard rushing attack was held to 119 yards. Attendance at Harvard was 7,414.

Penn 20, Lehigh 0
Leading just 3-0 through three quarters, the Quakers (2-2) put the game away with 17 fourth-quarter points. Penn outgained perhaps historically inept Lehigh, 404 yards to 119. The Mountain Hawks (0-6) were held to minus three yards rushing while Isaiah Malcolm had 201 yards and Trey Flowers 115 of Penn’s 328 yards on the ground. Lehigh has scored nine points in six games this fall on three field goals. Attendance at Franklin Field was 4,278

Princeton 31, Monmouth 28
Down, 21-6, in the third quarter, the Tigers (4-0) took a 28-21 lead on Collin Eaddy’s third running touchdown of the second half only to see Monmouth (3-3) knot the score on a 22-yard interception return with 2:53 remaining. Jeffrey Sexton capped Princeton's ensuing 13-play, 57-yard drive with a 35-yard field goal into the wind with 10 seconds left to give the Tigers the win. Attendance at Monmouth, just an hour or so from the Princeton campus, was a disappointing 2,977.

Brown 31, Colgate  10
EJ Perry completed 27-of-37 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns for Brown (1-3), which also got a 74-yard scoop and score from corner Shane Prevot. Colgate (2-4) was limited to 299 yards by a Brown defense that allowed just a third quarter field goal until the Raiders finally found the end zone with 4:25 remaining. Brown did not announce the attendance.

Columbia 22, Central Connecticut 20
Dante Miller ran 18 times for 136 yards and a touchdown to lead the Lions (3-1). Columbia recorded eight sacks with Cam Dillon collecting 5.5 of them, including one for a third-quarter safety that provided the winning margin. Central Connecticut (1-4) piled up 27 first downs but managed just 52 yards rushing. Attendance in New Britain, Conn., was 4,117.

Sacred Heart 20, Merrimack 10
No Julius Chestnut no problem for the Pioneers (3-3) as Malik Grant ran for 268 yards on 27 carries. Sacred Heart turned the ball over five times with three interceptions and two lost fumbles but held Merrimack (3-3) to 15 yards rushing. Attendance at Sacred Heart was 4,993.

St. Thomas 20, Valparaiso 13
The Tommies (3-1), so far successfully making the leap from Division III to Division I, limited Valpo (1-5) running back Robert Washington to 23 yards on 14 carries while building a 20-3 lead and holding on to win before 7,443 in St. Paul, Minn.

EXTRA POINT
Back home for a wedding, That Certain Dartmouth '14 was relaxing yesterday in a pair of blue jeans with small rip in the knee. After she expressed unhappiness about the tear I got a laugh when I suggested they probably went up in value, given current "style." Maybe to some, but not to her. She considers them ruined.
