To the list of self-reported Dartmouth recruits add Desmin Jackson, a 5-foot-10, 175/180 running back from Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, Calif. He tweeted his commitment HERE.
Per his Twitter Dartmouth was his first DI offer, and he promptly received another from Cal Poly. Find his midseason highlight video HERE.

A look back at a big Saturday in Cambridge, courtesy of the Dartmouth football office:
“This week with Dartmouth, we really have to work to get that more complete game where all three sides of the ball are playing a little better,” said Surace.“They are playing two quarterbacks. Their starter, Derek Kyler, who has played since his freshmen year. is throwing the ball well, he is so poised. He is playing at an exceptional level and then Nick Howard comes in and it is the wildcat stuff. He is just bulling through people. They have got good players around him. It is a typical big O-line, D-line. They are always in place, they don’t give up big plays. It is everything you would expect from Dartmouth.”
Green Alert Take: It wasn't until reading this that I thought back to how the Big Green got started with the two-quarterback system and Surace has only his success with John Lovett rotating in down there to blame for the challenge he faces Friday night. Jared Gerbino was headed to wide receiver until Lovett's success led to him getting a chance to emulate him for the Big Green. Now it's Howard emulating Gerbino.

Jake Novak down at Roar Lions has his latest power rankings up (LINK):
1. Princeton
2. Dartmouth
3. Yale
4. Columbia
5. Harvard
6. Penn
7. Brown
8. Cornell
Green Alert Take: The only serious quibble I have with Jake's ranking is having Harvard fifth. The Crimson is a very talented team that took Princeton to five overtimes and but for a missed chip shot field goal would have gone to overtime against Dartmouth. Whether the Crimson continues to play at a high level is yet to be seen after back-to-back heartbreaking losses, but from a pure power ranking perspective through seven weeks I'd have them in the top three – or higher.

When 7-1 Baylor played host to Texas last week, former Dartmouth standout Drew Estrada had his own cheering section in the crowd of 45,834. In the photo above he is surrounded by teammates and classmates who made the trip to Waco to cheer him on, traveling from as far away as Hawaii, Florida, Washington and Boston among other places. Some of you will have seen this on BGA Premium last night. It is a video the Dartmouth football team watched yesterday as part of the NCAA's civic engagement initiative. I hadn't seen it until yesterday and it's very powerful. CLICK HERE to watch Dr. Edwards' Emotional Letter to Bill Walsh.
