(Defensive lineman Seth) Walter has been in contact with the Minnesota Vikings and plans to travel to his home state of Florida’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ facility on April 8 for a workout with the team. (Safety Niko) Mermigas is on the NFL draft board for the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys. Depending on how his performance in the Pro Day is viewed, Mermigas could be in the position to begin discussions with teams that have shown interest in his talent.
And:
. . . 10 teams called the Dartmouth football program after Mermigas’ and Walter’s outstanding performances, according to Brooks, including reigning Super Bowl champions the Los Angeles Rams.

"'It's a bunch of guys that want to be great in football. On the outside looking in I'm sure there are people who think, 'This is the Ivy League and football isn't that important.' But you get here and guys are asking you all kinds of questions. They're asking for notes. They're asking for extra film. They're asking how can they get better. They have rigorous school schedules, but they still find a way to make sure they are on top of their football as well, which is very impressive.
"The guys here have the same mindset as the guys I played with. They want to get to the NFL when it comes to football. That's the goal. When you have guys like that, that's when you have success. These are guys who want to have success and are driven to earn it."
Green Alert Take: Wendy Laurent is very impressive and having watched him teaching, and having spoken with him I'd share that even if he had played his college football at that school in Columbus.

From Dartmouth sports publicity:
It has been quite the year for Gail Koziara Boudreaux, a member of the Dartmouth Class of 1982. In January, she was honored with the Theodore Roosevelt Award, the highest honor the NCAA can bestow an individual. Now, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has chosen her as one of four former college athletes for induction into its Academic All-America Hall of Fame.
Created in 1988, the Academic All-America Hall of Fame recognizes former Academic All-Americas who received a college degree at least 10 years ago, have achieved lifetime success in their professional careers, and are committed to philanthropic causes.
And . . .
Currently the President and CEO of Anthem Inc., Boudreaux was a standout athlete for the Big Green. A four-time All-Ivy League player, three-time recipient of the Ivy League Player of the Year and two-time Academic All-American in women's basketball, she earned a spot on the All-America Third Team as a senior in 1982. She remains the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,933 points (average of 21.9 per game) and rebounder with 1,635 (18.4 per game) and led Dartmouth to three conference crowns.
And . . .
Boudreaux was an All-American in the shot put in her senior campaign for the Big Green women's track and field team as well, and was the Ivy League champion in the event each of her four years. She also won the discus throw as a junior and senior,
And . . .
Boudreaux has been named as one of Fortune Magazine's Most Powerful Women in Business and featured by Forbes as one of 100 Most Powerful Women in the World.

EXTRA POINT
This is kind of petty but every time I see someone riding a bike with the arch of their foot on the pedals – and I saw it a couple of times in Hanover on Tuesday – it makes me want to scream. It's a lot less work and much more efficient if you have the ball of your foot on the pedal and I find it hard to believe people don't realize that.
Oh, and please check that your bicycle's tires are properly inflated. If there's anything worse than pedaling with your arches it's pedaling with your arches on a bike with soft tires.
Consider this today's public service announcement from someone who has bicycled across the country two times.
