From a story on the Syracuse 247Sports site headlined, 1st wave of Syracuse football summer enrollees includes transfer WR D'Marcus Adams, DB Isaiah Johnson (LINK):
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Johnson . . . has two years of eligibility left. He received an offer from the Orange in late December and took an official visit in late January. He also picked up scholarship opportunities from Western Michigan, Charlotte, Tulane, Grambling State, Miami (OH), Colorado, Massachusetts, Tennessee-Martin, Eastern Kentucky, Samford and Youngstown State.
Johnson, who chose to graduate from Dartmouth next week rather than return for a "super senior" season, was a member of the All-Ivy League first team last fall. Find his Dartmouth bio HERE.

BGA reported on May 7 that former wide receiver coach JJ Jackson was expected to be named head coach at NAIA member Texas College and the school made it official with a posting yesterday HERE. Jackson, who had a well-deserved reputation as a standout recruiter at Dartmouth, will have his work cut out for him after the Steers went 0-11 last fall. That included seven games when they allowed at least 60 points, including three when opponents topped 70.
Texas College is a Historically Black College in Tyler with about 1,000 students. The Steers play in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Editor's Note: Jackson should have appeared on the list posted on BGA Daily of former Dartmouth and Ivy League coaches on FootballScoop's Minority Watch List/Rising Stars. (LINK) Find his Dartmouth bio HERE.

There are and will be a bunch of stories about former Harvard quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick after he made his retirement from the NFL official. One on the Bengals.com site that also mentions Dartmouth alum Reggie Williams is particularly entertaining. From that story (LINK):
Fitzpatrick is ending one of the longest and most unique careers in the history of the NFL. It lasted through 17 seasons, 166 games and nine teams during parts of three decades, four presidents and a Mount Rushmore beard.

Any remaining doubt that the landscape of college sports is irreversibly changed should disappear after reading a Cleveland.com columnist's story headlined Ohio State believes it needs $13 million in NIL money to keep its football roster together. From the story (LINK):
. . . (W)hile it might be tempting to look at $13 million for an 85-man scholarship football team as $150,000 per player, I think the better calculation is something closer to $500,000 each for the 26 guys you can’t live without.

Meant to mention a few days ago an NCAA post that included this remarkable stat about another elite academic school about 90 minutes from Dartmouth:
Middlebury women’s stick programs (field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse) went 71-1 this year with all three winning national championships.

EXTRA POINT
I was sitting here a few minutes ago trying to dig up material to give you something to read this morning when I heard a beep. Without thinking I spun my chair around and headed downstairs.
The sound was Robo, our robotic vacuum cleaner, announcing it was about to go to work. My automatic response on hearing the beep was to go down the stairs, make sure several doors were closed so the vac could did its work where it was most needed, and to check if there were any dog toys, shoelaces or USB charging wires that might trip it up.
Most days I make sure the coast is clear for Robo after I walk Griff the Wonder Dog. On occasions like today – when I forgot to do that – I hear the beep and am off to do my due diligence almost before I realize it.
I am Pavlov's dog ;-)
