On the heels of Saturday's post about Buddy Teevens protégé Omar Khan becoming GM of the Pittsburgh Steelers (LINK), and Tuesday's posting about former Dartmouth quarterback Dan Rooney '20 being the heir apparent with the Steelers (LINK) comes still another piece about a former Big Green player with a prominent role with the storied NFL franchise.
The headline in the Steelers Depot story reads, Cole Marcoux Might Be The Next Steelers Front Office Name To Know. (LINK)
From the Steelers Depot story about Marcoux '14:
(He) was hired in 2020 to replace Samir Suleiman, poached by David Tepper, former minority owner of the Steelers who bought the Carolina Panthers and took Suleiman with him. Marcoux was brought into the mix and officially holds the title of Football Administration Coordinator. According to the Steelers' media guide, his responsibilities include:
"Marcoux assists primarily with the management of the salary cap, player contract negotiations, team logistics and scouting."
Marcoux '14, who came to Dartmouth as a much heralded quarterback, struggled to get on the field at that position and eventually transitioned to tight end, where he earned All-Ivy League recognition as a senior. He was presented with the program's 12th Man Award for his dedication to the program. (BIO)
Prior to joining the Steelers, Marcoux spent almost six years working for the NFL with his final role being Senior Manager of Labor Operations - NFL Management Council.

A story in the local daily about the new head football coach at neighboring Lebanon High School reveals he intends to bring in as an assistant Doug Johnson, who coached in the Dartmouth freshman program in the early '90s before working with the Big Green secondary, linebackers and eventually defensive line. Johnson was a standout running back for Tufts.
In addition to his work with the Dartmouth football program, a generation of Dartmouth players knew "Dougie J" as the popular owner of AJ's Restaurant, a fixture in White River Junction before closing in 2011.

Skull Sparks tracks social media "interactions generated" in college sports and in the month of May it listed Dartmouth one spot behind Duke and one place ahead of Boston College for college football "interactions."
The top five schools were Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, Florida and Georgia. The leading FCS school was Jackson State, which came in at No. 50. No Ivy League school other than Dartmouth cracked the top 100. Here's the Skull Sparks Tweet revealing the May numbers (click to enlarge and then click on the chart):

EXTRA POINT
The Great Electric Tractor Saga of 2022 came to a successful conclusion last evening. Somehow, some way, with enormous help from a 26-minute, step-by-step video posted by a farmer from Saskatchewan, I was able to access, pull, replace and rewire four 12 volt, 100ah batteries and install a PowerPulse unit to prevent sulfate deposits without electrocuting myself or shorting everything out. I also drained and replaced the transaxle oil. (Only if you know me will you understand just how astonishing it is that this English/journalism major managed to pull this off, albeit with help from Mrs. BGA.)
Today I'll be lugging the four batteries weighing a combined 270 pounds to an auto parts store for recycling and a $40 in store credit. Maybe I'll use it toward a timing belt or a spark plug gap gauge. Yeah, sure. ;-)
One more thing. After writing here yesterday that my only complaint after getting a second COVID booster shot was a sore arm, I got an email from Mrs. BGA wondering if I was jinxing myself. Turns out she was right. I'm feeling a whole lot better today, thank you very much.
