Dartmouth has a photo essay of sorts on the arrival of new athletic director Mike Harrity and among the pictures is this one of Harrity flanked by head football coach Buddy Teevens and deputy AD Richard Whitmore, the athletic department liaison to football. Find the full photo essay HERE.

Headline in the Associated Press: Transfer portal windows endorsed for final NCAA approval. From the story (LINK):

Division I college football players would have two periods of time -- one in the winter and one in the spring -- to enter the transfer portal and be immediately eligible to play if a proposed rule change gets final approval.

Green Alert Take: After the wild, wild west of the past year this sounds like a first, small step toward sanity.

EXTRA POINT
Don't look now but we are exactly one month past the Summer Solstice.

Here are the numbers in our part of Vermont (sunrise/sunset/length of day):

June 21: 5:03:35/8:37:06/15 hours, 33 minutes, 31 seconds
July 21: 5:23:32/8:26:20/15 hours, 2 minutes, 48 seconds

In other words, there's a full half hour less of daylight than there was just a month ago.

Editor's Note: Don't kill the messenger ;-)
