Long-snapper Josh Greene remembers a lesson he learned from Steve Ward, the former Dartmouth equipment manager who passed away last week HERE.
Green Alert: As Steve's proxy, I'll remind everyone you never, ever wanted to refer to him as a former Marine, or retired Marine. I made that mistake . . . just once!

A Hartford Courant story about the University of Connecticut football team improving to 3-4 is headlined, How running game, timely defense sparked UConn football to back-to-back wins for first time since 2017 and includes this (LINK):
Anchored by veteran Christian Haynes and Dartmouth transfer Jake Guidone, the line has been a strength on the roster all season.
Guidone, a graduate student with experience in the Ivy League, has emerged quickly as a leader for the Huskies at center alongside Haynes up front.
“It always, the result, revolves around your center,” coach Jim Mora said. “I think (Guidone) gives everyone a little bit of comfort in there. You have him and Christian next to each other. You’ve got a couple of guys that have played a lot of football who are comfortable playing with each other. We don’t operate as efficiently when he’s not in there, so I think that tells you he’s critical to our success.”

What's wrong with this page from the Yale football program for the Dartmouth game?
EXTRA POINT
A sure sign that winter is coming: Yesterday Mrs. BGA and I traded out the 11 screens in our sun room for 11 glass windows that spent the spring and summer in our basement.
There's no heat in the sun room but on clear days sun on the dark stone floor will warm the room and all the glass will keep the heat inside. If we are lucky we'll be able to use the room off and on until Thanksgiving or so before buttoning it up until the screens come back up from the basement in the spring.
