The Ivy League continued to take care of business yesterday, going 4-0 against a slate of opponents with a combined 3-19 record.
PRINCETON 23, LAFAYETTE 2
The Tigers (4-0) limited Lafayette (2-4) to 206 yards of total offense and for the second time in as many weeks their defense did not allow a point. Blake Stensrom completed 30-of-40 passes for 290 yards and Andrie Iosivas was on the receiving end of 10 passes for 150 yards. Although the Tigers managed just 74 yards rushing on 36 carries all their scoring was done on the ground. Princeton’s defense has not allowed a point since the second quarter of the second game of the season. Attendance on a sunny day in Easton, Pa., was 3,303.
COLUMBIA 28, WAGNER 7
Woeful Wagner (0-5) was down just 7-0 at the half only to see the Lions (3-1) use two third-quarter touchdowns to stretch the margin to 21-0 and cruise to a comfortable win. Wagner now has lost 25 consecutive games. Quarterback Joe Green was 15-of-21 for 188 yards with three touchdowns and Ryan Young ran for 117 yards and a score for the Lions (3-1) as they completed their third unbeaten nonconference slate in four years. Attendance at Wien Stadium was 3,125.
BROWN 27, CENTRAL CONNECTICUT 20
After taking a 21-6 lead early in the second quarter the Bears (2-2) needed to force a turnover on downs at their six-yard line with 58 seconds remaining to hold off the Blue Devils (0-6) before 3,722 in New Britain. Hayes Sutton caught four passes for 103 yards and one touchdown and Jake Wilcox threw for 258 yards as Brown won despite being limited to 30 yards on the ground.
PENN 59, GEORGETOWN 28
The Quakers (4-0) survived third-quarter kickoff returns of 89 and 94 yards by Georgetown freshman Mason Gudger as they continued their best start since 2003. Aidan Sayin threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns and Trey Flowers ran for 149 yards and two touchdowns for Penn, which jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and scored 28 points in the third against the Hoys (1-5). Attendance at the Georgetown homecoming was listed as . . . zero.
New Hampshire 24, Stony Brook 14
Leading Stony Brook (0-5) by just three points with five minutes remaining, the Wildcats (4-2) set off on a 71-yard drive capped by Max Brosmer’s second TD pass of the game to stay unbeaten in the CAA before a homecoming crowd of 13,273 in Durham. UNH registered five sacks and nine tackles for loss overall.
VALPARAISO 41, PRESBYTERIAN 21
Trailing 21-14 at the half, the Beacons won the second half, 27-0, to rally past the Blue Hose (1-5) in front of 894 in Clinton, South Carolina. Aaron Dawson ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns for Valpo, which is 2-0 in the Pioneer Football League for the first time since 2003.

Harvard survived 12 penalties for 125 yards and two costly lost fumbles to post a 35-28 win over Cornell in Ithaca. Aidan Borguet ran for 163 yards and one touchdown for the Crimson (3-1, 2-0). Jameson Wang threw for 185 yards and one touchdown and ran for 61 yards and three more for Cornell (2-2, 0-2). Attendance was listed at 4,205.

The EV performed like champ on yesterday's drive down to New Haven and back. Gotta love having a Jersey Mike's within 100 feet or so of a charging station. Nothing like having a Philly cheesesteak while topping off the "juice" tank. ;-)
