The introductory theme to the weekly Teleteaser heading into tomorrow's game against Yale after a loss to Penn last week was, "It gets late early around here," but Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens didn't really bite. Find out why:
I like this to be a thriller of a game, but Yale will cover.
The Bulldogs are favored by four points.

The self-annointed "czar of the playbook" looks at this week's Ivy League action:
Mackie is reinventing himself as a linebacker after two years of inactivity. Mackie played three lackluster seasons at Dartmouth (2017-19) before the Ivy League went dark in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Mackie redshirted last season, which put him in position to establish a working relationship with new coach Don Brown, one the leading defensive specialists in the FBS coaching fraternity. Mackie adapted to the new system and leads the Minutemen in tackles (36), tackles for a loss (6.0) and sacks (1.5) after five games.
Green Alert Take: Not even close. Redshirted last year? Mackie had 86 tackles in nine games last fall, leading the Ivy League with a 9.6 average while being selected to the FCS All-America third team. Three lackluster seasons? Mackie was finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award as the top defensive player in the subdivision last fall, after two years backing up Jack Traynor, only one of the best linebackers in the nation.

The Los Angeles Times has a story about receiver Jake Bobo, the UCLA transfer from Duke who happens to be the son of former Dartmouth captain Mike Bobo '92. The story tells of "a television reporter who recently came to Bruins practice believing Jake was the son of Mike Bobo, onetime Georgia quarterback and longtime college coach who also has a son named Jake."
From the story:
The blunder didn’t offend anyone in the Bobo household, including the Mike Bobo who played quarterback for about three weeks at Dartmouth before switching to wide receiver.

EXTRA POINT
With Dartmouth playing at Yale tomorrow, we'll be driving through Springfield, Mass., and down through Hartford, Conn., for the second time in three weeks. But that's not all. Upcoming games at Columbia and Princeton mean those of us from the Upper Valley following the team will be spending every other Saturday from Sept. 24 to Nov. 5 on that endless ribbon of I-91.
The reward for all of that? One week after returning from Princeton we get to drive out to Ithaca for the Cornell game.
(Editor's note: While I'll be very, very tired of I-91 by the time we return from New Jersey, I'm the odd duck who actually likes the drive out to the Finger Lakes. Oh, and we just may take the New York Thruway on the Princeton trip for a little variety.)
