All-New England

Dartmouth linebacker Joe Heffernan and safety Quinten Arello have been named to the 2022 New England Football Writers Association All-New England team. The press release notes, "The players represent teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Big South Conference, the Colonial Athletic Association, the Ivy League, the Northeast Conference, and the Patriot League. Additionally, players were chosen from independents UConn and UMass."

Green Alert Take: I thought Jake Guidone might make the team from UConn and Jalen Mackie from UMass but alas . . .

And because there's no Ivy League team to follow in the FCA playoffs . . .

NEW HAMPSHIRE 52, FORDHAM 42|
In the run-up to Dartmouth’s game against New Hampshire, coach Buddy Teevens said UNH speedster Dylan Laube might be the fastest player  the Big Green would see all season. We could never be sure because Laube was injured and did not play against Dartmouth but Fordham found out just how dangerous he could be.

Laube ran for 157 yards and three touchdowns, caught four passes for 127 yards and a touchdown, returned five kickoffs for 119 yards and brought back three punts for 21 yards to lead UNH to the opening-round wn. His 424 yards of total offense are a school record.

New Hampshire (9-3) will now travel to undefeated Holy Cross Saturday at noon.

EXTRA POINT
Packing up for our return to the Upper Valley after watching Penn State finish off a 10-2 season with a win over Michigan State, I couldn't find my car keys. Mrs. BGA had her keys so we wouldn't be stranded. I wondered if maybe I had left them in our bag but couldn't find them so I carried the bag outside and in vicinity of the car. Aha! When the car unlocked I knew the keys were in there somewhere and redoubled my effort to find them.
