Crouthamel, who developed a national reputation as the successful athletic director at Syracuse, died last month at age 84. The early national letter of intent signing period starts Wednesday and a recruiting dead period begins Monday, which made this a big weekend for (Deion) Sanders and his staff. About 25 recruits were on campus this weekend.

Almost all-quiet on the transfer portal front if Twitter is to believed except for former Dartmouth offensive lineman John Paul Flores – who played last fall at Virginia – adding a Louisiana Tech offer. In addition to La Tech his sheet now features Old Dominion, Temple, UMass, Marshall, Troy, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green and Rice.
