Statistically Speaking

After receiving an email regarding yesterday's post about FCS stat leaders I thought this was as good a time as any to toss up the full NCAA listing of Dartmouth's statistics from the 2022 season.

Here is a smörgåsbord of stats posted by the NCAA in somewhat random order. OA is Dartmouth's overall ranking in the FCS. The rest should be self-explanatory. Have at it!

Emory Hunt has a piece on the CBS.com site headlined Standouts from College Gridiron Showcase; names to know ahead of Hula Bowl game with the subhead, You probably don't know these prospects, but NFL scouts sure do that includes a familiar name. One name is familiar (LINK):

LB Jalen Mackie (6-0 236), UMass
Patience and twitch from an off-ball linebacker perspective was impressive. I thought Mackie performed well during the LB/RB 1-on-1 drills, which are heavily tilted toward the offensive side of the ball. After transferring to UMass from Dartmouth, Mackie was ready for the step up in competition at the CGS and proved it out there on the field.

EXTRA POINT
My visiting childhood friend never got to ski yesterday with a steady rain and the temperature challenging 40 degrees. Nor has he had a chance to see our wonderful views with the mountains hidden by heavy cloud cover. He's headed back to his Cape Cod home this afternoon but before he does he's bravely strapping on my microspikes and will join me on my daily hike. It's 24 degrees and that has him a little apprehensive, but when I told him I've hiked it in when the temp was well below zero he decided he's going to give it a shot. Hopefully by the time we get to the top the sky will have opened up. Either way, it should be fun.
