It's camping season.
Me? I'm sitting in a tent at "Last Chance Camp and Lodging" near Cheyenne, Wyo.
And Dartmouth? The Big Green is beginning its own camp season tomorrow. ;-)
I was out here in the West during the Friends of Dartmouth Football outing, but one of BGA's most trusted subscribers reports that Athletic Director Mike Harrity said all the right things about Buddy Teevens and interim coach Sammy McCorkle in addressing the group. McCorkle also impressed.
Another loyal BGA reader in town for reunions described new president Sian Beilock as "a breath of fresh air."
Add in the generous gift from the Lewinstein family and it would seem there's a sense around the old (and not-so-old) guard that there are better days ahead for the athletic program.

A story out of Boulder headlined SuperWest Sports ranks Colorado's DL unit last in Pac-12 can be read two ways. First a quote from the story (LINK):
It’s fair to admit that CU doesn’t boast a particularly established offensive front, but the defensive line does feature a few accomplished names in West Virginia transfer Taijh Alston, Fresno State defect Leonard Payne Jr. and former Dartmouth standout Shane Cokes, who had a strong first spring in Boulder.
Green Alert Take: It's not at all surprising that Shane Cokes once again draws praise for how he's shown out with the Buffaloes so far. But it's hardly surprising that people outside Boulder have concerns about the D-line if they are putting that much faith in three players who have never played a game for Colorado, including two who will be making their debut at the Power 5 level this fall.

EXTRA POINT
On the way back from breakfast out with That Certain BGA Sister a couple of days ago, I spotted a do-it-yourself car wash and offered to do the brushing and spraying to clean up her car. Living on a dirt road, I do it regularly at home, tossing in $3.50 worth of quarters and then sprinting around the car like a maniac to avoid having to toss in more coins.
It was different in Colorado where they had a card reader instead of needing a pocket full of coins.
I went just as fast as I do at home and was sure I hadn't exceeded the time allotted for those 14 quarters in Vermont.
After we got through the park yesterday and had service again. Mrs. BGA's phone buzzed with a note from TCSBGA. Turns out the car wash cost . . . wait for it . . . $20.
The only reason why I won't call that highway robbery was because it wasn't on a true highway. Ridiculous.
