Dartmouth's game notes for the Big Green's football opener tomorrow evening at New Hampshire have been posted HERE. From those notes:
Dartmouth enters the 2023 season with the longest active win streak on opening day having defeated its opponent to start each of the past 12 campaigns. Of those 12 victories, only two were decided by single digits — 30-23 over Butler in 2013 and 22-21 over this week’s opponent, New Hampshire, in 2016 when the Wildcats were ranked 22nd in the country.

Proof that the uniform selection is for and by the players and not for alumni:

Unfortunately, if you want to watch the game you'll have to take out a one-month subscription (don't forget to cancel) to Flo Football HERE. Unless I'm reading it wrong, that will cost you $29.99.
Green Alert Take: Makes ESPN+ look like a bargain.
The good news is you can listen to the Dartmouth audio broadcast for free HERE, with Brett Franklin on play-by-play with Matt Corsetti doing color.

It wouldn't have been a surprise if the UNH-Dartmouth game sold out but chances of that may be diminishing given Hurricane Lee expected to affect the area as it passes offshore. Here's the storm forecast as reported in Manchester, N.H., this morning:

Green Alert Take: Why doesn't the site include Yale? Because when you know so much more about one team than you know about the rest it's impossible to make an apples-to-apples comparison. It's the same reason why when I rank the Ivy League teams I don't include Dartmouth. I know who's stepping up for the Big Green, who is hurting and a lot of the schematic changes that might be in store. When you know none of that for the other teams it makes it impossible to offer an unbiased opinion where the team you cover fits in. Does that make sense? (It does to me ;-)

WCAX TV out of Burlington, Vt., does a pretty good job of explaining what is happening at Dartmouth with regard to the men's basketball team hoping to unionize. Watch the video HERE.

EXTRA POINT
I'm all for the safety innovations in today's cars, but . . .
Mrs. BGA's car was sitting in the garage and when she went out to drive it earlier this week her dashboard came alive with all kinds of warnings and an annoying gong sound. What was up? It turns out the radar/camera in her windshield that helps with adaptive cruise control, "lane departure" and all that was suddenly kaput. She hadn't hit a huge bump. The windshield hadn't leaked in the rain and shorted connections. Mice hadn't eaten the wires. The camera simply decided it had had enough.
A visit to the the dealer bought this explanation: "Sometimes it just happens."
The good news is that unbeknownst to me at the time, Mrs. BGA had been talked into buying a warranty when she bought the car, something that everything I've read says is a bad decision and I would have advised against. After a few phone calls by the dealer to make sure, it was determined that yes, the entire $1,400 camera and the three or so hours to get it installed and running will be covered. Whew!
The bad news? Apparently unless you are a lot more automative savvy than we could ever hope to be, when a camera like that goes out you can't just disconnect it. You have to replace it or live with the warning lights and turn the radio up very, very loud to drown out the alarm gongs.
