The 'Academic Heisman'

Linebacker Macklin Ayers is Dartmouth's semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, unofficially regarded as the "Academic Heisman." A Big Green senior captain, Ayers topped the Ivy League with 10 tackles per game last fall and has a 3.81 GPA majoring in sociology modified with environmental science. The National Football Foundation will name 12-14 finalists for the Campbell on Oct. 25. Ayers is bidding to join this list of previous finalists from Dartmouth:
1960 – Alan Rozycki 
1970 – Willie Bogan
1972 – Fred Radke
1976 – Pat Sullivan
1988 – Paul Sorensen
1994 – Josh Bloom
In addition to Ayers, the Ivy League semifinalists are:

Now I either have to find someone to cut the "back 40" that is way too high and too big for my walk-behind mower or buy some sheep. ;-)
