When the Patriot League introduced football scholarships a decade ago there was a lot of hand-wringing among Ivy League faithful that the Ancient Eight's traditional rivals would leave them behind. It didn't work that way as the Ivies, if anything, increased their domination over the Patriot League opposition.
It has taken longer than most expected but it would seem the PL is starting to figure the scholarship game out. With Colgate topping Dartmouth and Bucknell defeating Cornell over the weekend the Patriot League finishes this season 6-7 against the Ivies and is now 17-16 overall against outside competition. That number would be even better if not for a 1-4 mark in games against FBS schools.

This is several weeks old but it's a fun interview with former Dartmouth standout Flo Orimolade '17, who leads the 14-2 Toronto Argonauts in sacks. Keep watching if you want to find out exactly how to pronounce Folarin:

EXTRA POINT
For the doubters out there, our 550-mile round trip drive out to Colgate and back was an example of just how smoothly a trip like that can go in an EV while taking the sting out of gas prices. Thanks to the state of New York, we were able to fast charge for free, without a wait, at a Welcome Center on the Thruway on the way out. Arriving at Colgate before the game, we hooked up to one of the on-campus chargers to add a little more free juice – just because we could.

On the way home we stopped at the gorgeous Adirondack Welcome Center where I used the wifi to file my game story while we took advantage of still more free high-speed charging without a wait to fill 'er up.
Did I mention the Adirondack Welcome Center was gorgeous? Take a look:
