Whew!

Lede from the Dartmouth-Princeton football game written by none other than TigerBlog himself (LINK):

Time was winding down. Dartmouth trailed Princeton by a point. It was fourth and 1 for the Big Green at the Tiger 30. This was the game.

What do you do? Go for it? Or send out your freshman placekicker? Maybe if it had been on the 29 or 31, Dartmouth would have gone for it. From the 30? There was no choice.

Owen Zalc kicked a 47-yard field goal with 1:28 to go to give Dartmouth a 23-21 win over Princeton Friday night in Hanover, a place where the Tigers have not won since 2009. Zalc, a freshman, is now 4 for 4 on 47-yard field goals this season. He's missed from other distances. From 47? He's perfect.

A few highlights from Dartmouth, starting the the kickk:

Elsewhere last night, former Dartmouth nickel John Pupel '22 earned bragging rights over former Big Green corner Isaiah Johnson '22 as Boston College scored a 17-10 victory to improve to 6-3. Syracuse fell to 4-5. Both Dartmouth grads had six tackles in the game.

And then there's this:

Oh yeah, in case you have a little interest in checking on the scores (You do, don't you?) here's today's Ivy League schedule:

Yale at Brown – Noon
Harvard at Columbia – 12:30 p.m.
Cornell at Penn – 1 p.m.

In case you've been off-the-grid for a bit, if Columbia upsets Harvard, Dartmouth will be tied for the Ivy League lead with two games remaining.

And for the record, a seven-way tie for the title is still possible.

EXTRA POINT
Now I've got to hustle outside to talk to our part-time neighbor from Connecticut who is knocking down his field with a real tractor. While my little electric tractor is on the DL I'm hoping I can convince him to do a final cut on our field for a price.
