A New Name

Screengrab from KUSI TV report

There aren't usually many surprises on the early signing day but a previously unannounced recruit, whose Xwitter account has been quiet, spoke to local TV about his decision to attend Dartmouth. “The academics at an Ivy League school is on another level, no other degree can compare to something like that,” said Nokoi Maddox, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound safety from El Cajon, Calif., and Granite Hills High School. He's interviewed as part of the TV package HERE.

Byond Penn, Columbia and Georgetown, Maddox' offer sheet includes Colorado State, San Jose State, Navy, Montana, Weber State, Penn, Columbia and Georgetown.

The Admissions Office drew admitted students from an all-time high of 3,550 applicants, up 18% from last year’s applicant pool.

EXTRA POINT
We can all use a laugh sometimes. I think this is an oldie, but I hadn't seen it before. I'm not sure Griff the Wonder Dog would appreciate it:
