EXTRA POINT
Mrs. BGA and I went shopping a couple of days before Christmas and when her small purchase was $4.25 she handed the clerk a $20 bill and an extra quarter to eliminate the need for any coins in change. The cleark stood there confused, said something unintelligible about the register and then called on the loudspeaker for his manager.
When the clerk explained the issue to her, we expected the manager to clear his entry in the register for bookkeeping purposes and let him finish the transaction. Instead she got out her phone to punch in numbers to find out that we needed to get an even $16 in change.
I worry what's going to happen to some people when their GPS stops working.
