A Daily Double

Two new names for the Dartmouth recruiting list this morning.

Ky'Dric Fisher is a 5-foot-11, 165-pound wide receiver from Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Ala., and Luke Armistead is a 6-1, 193 punter/placekicker from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, Tenn., who has a very interesting talent.

#

Fisher, a member of the Class 4A all-state team had 68 receptions for 1,242 yards and 19 touchdowns in 13 games last fall, averaging 18.3 yards per catch and 95.5 yrds per game. He fielded offers from Columbia, Colgate, West Georgia, West Florida, Southeast Missouri, Evangel and Shorter per his social media.

#

Armistead chose Dartmouth  over Columbia, Bucknell, Furman, Chattanooga and Hendrix per his Xwitter. His interesting talent? He can punt with either leg. He reports a 46.0 average with his right foot and 41.1 overall with a long of 57 and 17 of his 42 punts inside the 20. Find his highlights HERE.

EXTRA POINT
Not sure this is a thing where you live but on cold days like yesterday it's not at all unusual for someone to leave their car or truck running – with the keys in it – while popping into our little one-room post office. I get that it's nice to get back into a nice warm car but seriously? A little Googling found this: "Studies have shown that idling for more than 10 seconds uses more fuel than restarting the engine." And this: "Idling generates harmful emissions like carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides." And this: "The increased fuel savings far outweigh any potential starter wear concerns." Not to mention there's always a chance someone will hop into the car and drive off with it, right?
