Offensive lineman Ethan Sipe seems to be adding new grad transfer offers daily. The latest bid for the 6-foot-5, 300-pound potential fifth-year senior from Nashville's services is from Middle Tennessee State, just about a 40-minute drive from his home. He also has offers from UTEP, Western Kentucky and Kennesaw State, and preferred walk-on offers from Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Kansas State.

EXTRA POINT
My old editor at the local daily used to take a vacation in Florida most years just as the weather was improving around here. There were years when I would check the temperature down there and it was actually nicer in the Upper Valley than where he was vacationing. I never quite understood holding off that long instead of escaping these parts when it was cold and gray and miserable.
Mrs. BGA is midway through a week in Florida helping out a friend. With how mild it was here in late winter, I wondered when the opportunity to head south came up if it would be the same for her as it was for my editor.
Hardly.
We got a full foot of heavy, wet snow a day or so after she got down there and it's snowing horizontally right now here at our Vermont hillside home. Although the white stuff is not supposed to last I've got to admit Mrs. BGA's timing is looking pretty good.
Except for one thing.
While she's dipping her toes in the Gulf of Mexico she's going to miss the total eclipse here in the north country. For the record, the sun is expected to be shining, the sky generally clear and the temperature where I'll be set up to watch the show Monday afternoon is expected to be 53 degrees. I'm not complaining.
