Watched the Olympic Trials track from Oregon last night and heard an announcer tell us that to move on a woman long jumper needed to jump "6 meters 43." That's how he phrased it.
Look, I get that the world does track measurements in meters but if it's just once every four years that Americans pay attention to track, at least offer a conversion so we have some perspective. For the record, after some Googling I found that she needed to jump a little over 21 feet and one inch, which she did.
