The Oklahoman has a piece about Deer Creek, Okla., quarterback Grady Adamson, a Georgia Tech commit who, not surprisingly given what you'll read below, counted Dartmouth among his offers. From the story (LINK):
His parents were athletes at Dartmouth as his dad played football and his mom competed as a thrower in track and field.
Adamson’s dad, Chris, is a Deer Creek alum and still involved with football.
“He runs this company called Gridiron Imports where he helps place kids from other countries into boarding schools here and helps them play football here,” Adamson said. “And then he also helps out and runs camps in Europe with like NFL players and stuff.”
While Adamson fils is "the one who got away," scroll down this earlier post to see some of the talent Adamson père has sent to Hanover.

The 2024 FanNation preview of UAlbany football notes that, "The Great Danes reloaded through the transfer portal, adding 15 Division I players this offseason." From the STORY (emphasis is mine):
Notable Incoming Transfers: Jacari Carter (Georgia State; WR), Seven McGee (Jackson State; WR), Jamal Cooney (Dartmouth; WR), Jack Iuliano (Penn; DL), Sean Morris (Morgan State; DL), Timon Akins (UAPB; LB), Myles Burkett (Wisconsin; QB), Marcus Winfield (Kent State; DL), Kenechukwu Eziomume (Alabama A&M; DB)
Cooney, who sat out last year after graduating from Dartmouth, played in 22 games over three seasons with the Big Green, catching 31 passes for 368 yards and returning 23 punts for 249 yards. He was an honorable mention All-Ivy League return specialist in 2021. Find his Dartmouth bio HERE.
A Google search also turned up a LINK to a page with the following headline that is a reminder about how college sports – even football at the FCS level – has changed:
JAMAL COONEY NIL APPAREL
Thanks for supporting Jamal Cooney! Every purchase puts money directly into their pocket!

EXTRA POINT
Well, it's been three weeks since the power equipment company picked up our lawn tractor for repairs and one week since I spent eight (?) hours getting up close and personal with our walk-behind mower. Unfortunately, the lawn will have to be mowed again in another day or two. And the field – which is too much for the walk-behind – is on the verge of getting out of control. Six acres is a lot to take care of so as soon as I post this I'm going to call over to the repair shop and beg plead ask how soon they might be able to get the tractor back to me. Fingers crossed it won't be much longer.
And for those who haven't been following along, the tractor went kaput when I tried without luck to mow a boulder embedded in our field. ;-(
