Fordham In Review

O-P is the fifth story out of the opening week of the season to appear on the Overtime site and for some reason I don't really understand there's no paywall this year. So enjoy. ;-)

What does it say that the Ivy League is a week into its season – and is starting Ivy League play Saturday – and the conference's football record book has not been updated to even include last year's champions? Find a PDF HERE.

Green Alert Take: If you wonder why I don't link to the Ivy League weekly football preview, take a look at what was posted HERE before the opening weekend of the season. Now do me a favor and look at what the Patriot League put up on its site before its first week of play HERE.

Green Alert Take II: I suppose it's possible the Ivy League has more info posted somewhere, but if that's the case, I can't find it.

Today's Sign of the Apocalypse is a really big one. Here's the headline: It Was Only a Matter of Time: UNLV QB Quits Because His NIL Deal Falls Through. The quarterback in question is Matthew Sluka, who headed to Las Vegas after a standout career at old friend Holy Cross and had helped UNLV get out to a 3-0 start. Read the story HERE.

EXTRA POINT
The leaves are turning, we traded out the screens in our sun room for glass yesterday, and as I write this a fuel oil truck is pulling into our driveway. I don't know about you, but I'm not ready to shelve my flip flops for another year.
