Comings and Goings

The Summerville (S.C.) Journal Scene has a story about incoming Dartmouth quarterback Jaden Cummings being named the Best of Prep Sports Football Player of the Year. From the story:
Cummings is a three-time all-region selection, two-time all-state selection and two-time all-lowcountry selection who has signed to play for the Dartmouth College football program. As a senior he was a team captain, played in the 2024 Touchstone Energy Cooperatives North-South Football Game, was named 5A Region 8 Player of the Year and was a finalist for the prestigious Bridge Builder Excellence Award.

Could the Dartmouth-to-UMass grad transfer pipeline be on the cusp of adding another?

First it was linebacker Jalen Mackie ’22, who posted 100 tackles in his only year in Amherst to earn a spot on the Pro Football Network All-Independent first team. Then it was fellow linebacker Macklin Ayers ‘24, who parlayed his experience at UMass into a mini-camp invitation with the Cleveland Browns.

Already headed to Massachusetts for the coming season are edge Marques White ’23 (after a season at McNeese State), offensive lineman Kyle Brown ’24 and tight end Alex Geraci ‘25.

Could corner Zach Farris ’25 be next in line?

Farris also reports a new offer from Robert Morris.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan has a piece under the headline, All the Colorado State additions and departures in spring that includes this about Tristan Holmbeck ’25 (LINK):

Position: Offensive line

Previous school: Dartmouth

Notable: The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Holmbeck played 27 games for Dartmouth and didn't allow a sack over 510 snaps at right guard. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Next up in announcing its incoming class is Brown, which does Harvard’s posting one better by not just having bios of each player, but also video. Find the Brown class HERE.

EXTRA POINT

Yesterdays hike brought another sign of spring – the first eastern newt Ive seen this year. This red eft will turn greenish, and after 2-3 years will move into the water, where the Google Machine says it could live up to 8-10 years.
