Team/School Fun Fact - The Ivy League school Dartmouth abandoned its unofficial Indian mascot in the 1970s in favor of going by the longtime nickname "the Big Green." Students missed having a real mascot, though, so in 2003 members of the humor magazine Dartmouth Jack-o-Lantern created a new unofficial one: Keggy the Keg. Despite the humor behind Keggy, the past 25 years various student initiatives have proposed numerous candidates for a tangible mascot, symbol or nickname that could be a companion or alternative to "Big Green" when identifying Dartmouth athletic teams. To date, none of these recommendations has received sufficient broad-based support from students or alumni to merit adoption.

EXTRA POINT
Had a good time in New York City yesterday, but as always, it was a huge relief to leave the concrete jungle behind. We head back up to Vermont on Monday morning.
