Like the Hall of Fame coach, Keith Clark believes in the importance of learning the basics. While the Dartmouth offensive line coach clearly had a little fun with a lesson he imparted on campers this summer, make no mistake. There’s real value in what he has to say:
Green Alert Take: Clark’s instruction is clear, forceful and to the point. It’s why he’s been, and continues to be, an absolutely huge part of Dartmouth football’s success.

EXTRA POINT
It’s the birthday of author and raconteur Jean Shepherd, who wrote, "Some men are Baptists; others Catholics. My father was an Oldsmobile man.” That, of course, is a line from the classic movie A Christmas Story, adapted from Shep's book In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash.
Long before the movie made it famous, I knew the story from so many nights listening to Shep wax poetic about Flick, Schwartz, Bruner and the rest on WOR radio. If you want a laugh, read his short story, The Endless Streetcar Ride into the Night, and the Tinfoil Noose. It won’t take you long and I promise his story about a blind date is worth your time. Find the story HERE.
In honor of Shep's birthday I offer this salute: "Excelsior!"
