The Analyst has a column asking the question, "Who third-best conference in the FCS?" The first two by a figurative mile – per the story – are the Missouri Valley Football Conference and the Big Sky Conference. From the story (LINK):
(F)our conferences probably best lay claim to the position. We lay out their arguments and let you decide which one should claim the spot.
Regarding the Ivy League:
Many of the players chose their school based on reasons other than football, so the allure of attending another university is not there. They grow and perform in their program for multiple years, making for smarter, cohesive teams.
Green Alert Take: The writers may be surprised at how many players actually do choose their school based on football although, to be fair, it's choosing among the Ivies.
This graphic accompanies the story:
Green Alert Take: It looks good on the screen, but you can be sure a lot of FCS fans who consider the Ivy League's non-league schedule soft will discount wins over Stetson, Stonehill and Georgetown.

Dartmouth Alumni Magazine has a story about the 1925 Big Green, which100 years ago won the mythical national championship. This excerpt from David Shribman's story gives a sense of how much things have changed since Dartmouth and Ivy League schools left the big stage (LINK):
“All Dartmouth College—students, faculty, and the citizens of this hill town—turned out tonight just before midnight to welcome home their great undefeated football team from its sweeping victory at Chicago,” Burton Whitman wrote in the Boston Herald. It was a celebration “present undergraduates will talk about to their children’s children.”

Or click HERE and see an analysis pointing out that Dartmouth's schedule featured wins over dubious opponents like Norwich and Hobart, while Alabama had wins over equally questionable Union (Tennessee), Sewanee and Montgomery (Florida).

EXTRA POINT
Mrs. BGA and I decided Tuesday night to check out the TV series Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on Prime Video. When the hour was over we were both a little confused and not all that impressed. Last night we gave it one more shot and discovered why Tuesday's episode was so baffling: It wasn't the first one.
Some silly goose (that would be me) thought he had clicked on the pilot, but instead dropped us into the middle of the story. No wonder we were confused. Time will tell if we stick with the series, but last night's hour was definitely a whole lot easier to follow than the previous night's.
