With three games Friday night (scroll down to yesterday’s BGA for recaps) here’s what transpired yesterday among Ivy League teams and Dartmouth’s nonconference opponents:

Mercer 38, Princeton 14

Mercer jumped out to a 21-0 lead midway through the second quarter and scored on its first three drives of the second half before 2,970 at Princeton Stadium. The Bears (5-1, 4-0) finished with a 503-257 advantage in total yards while posting five sacks. Princeton (2-2, 2-0) quarterback Kai Colón tossed two touchdown passes against the top-25 team.

Lehigh 31, Columbia 7

With its top two quarterbacks out and turning to a first-time starter, the  Lions (1-3, 0-1) were no match for No. 7/8 Lehigh  (7-0, 2-0). The Mountain Hawks carved out a 17-0 halftime lead and stretched it to 31-0 midway through the third quarter in front of 3,049 in New York City. Columbia’s Titus Evans caught six passes for 111 yards, the last a 74-yard touchdown for the Lions’ only points.

Rhode Island 38, New Hampshire 27

Trailing by 10 points entering the fourth quarter, the No. 17 Rams used a 21-0 fourth quarter to rebound from their loss to Brown and knock off New Hampshire (3-4, 1-2) before 5,192 in Kingston. After pulling to within three points early in the fourth quarter, Rhody (5-2, 3-0) took the lead on a TD with 2:12 remaining, and closed out the game with a 45-yard fumble recovery for a score with 1:05 left.

Central Connecticut 24, Robert Morris 12

Elijah Howard ran for 131 yards and a touchdown to lead the Blue Devils (4-3, 2-0) to the win before 2,789 at Robert Morris (1-5, 0-1). Dating back to last November, Central Connecticut has won six consecutive Northeast Conference games.

EXTRA POINT

With the leaves rapidly falling, our view of the White Mountains is opening up nicely. No snow atop Mount Moosilauke yet, but there was thick frost on our car windshields this morning before it burned off.
