Snow Fooling

The forecast is for "lake effect" snow to drop 3-6 inches of the white stuff on Syracuse so it probably won't be a major surprise if Ithaca gets a little. Instead of practicing on the turf at Leverone, I should have invited Buddy Teevens to bring the Big Green up here for a session on the mountain, where we still have a generous covering. ... Given the forecast, I'm heading out early, so the game preview, weekend picks and tour guide of Ithaca have already been posted. It was a late night and an early morning ;-)

From the Columbia Spectator: "As Dartmouth has only one major offensive weapon, the Big Red should have no trouble evening their record through eight games." Dartmouth's weapon, according to the Spec: wide receiver Ryan Fuselier.

The Daily Pennsylvanian was less kind to both teams, writing: "If anybody shows up to this one, there's even less to do in Ithaca, N.Y., than anyone ever thought." Green Alert Take: To each his own. I happen to like Ithaca. Then again, I live in Hanover. ...

Cornell, by the way, is a 10-point favorite on one of those Internet betting sites. ...

Nothing about the game up yet on the Daily Dartmouth site. There is, however, an interesting story headlined Alumni reject proposed constitution. It's Greek to me, but here's what alum John MccGovern '80 told the D: ""I'm delighted that rank-and-file Dartmouth alumni were able to see through the basically razzle-dazzle flim-flam in the stacked deck. (The College) did everything they could to stack the deck and it ran aground on the New Hampshire granite of stubborn facts and the good sense of Dartmouth alumni."

More later if I find wireless in Upstate New York ... and keep the shiny side of the '93 Mitsubishi Expo up. ... Keep your fingers crossed that the snow holds off.
