- How Saturday's game looked from the Cornell perspective
- How it looked from the Dartmouth perspective
- How it looked from the Associated Press perspective (with stats)
Yale 13, Brown 3
Yale used a 78-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to stretch a three-point lead and deal Brown its first Ivy League loss of the season.
Harvard 42, Columbia
One week after rushing for 368 yards against Dartmouth, Harvard ran for four yards (that is not a typo) on 37 carries. Didn't matter as Chris Pizzotti threw for 376 yards and four touchdowns.
Colgate 34, Lehigh 33
A TD pass with 2:28 capped Colgate's comeback from a 12-point deficit.
Holy Cross 38, Fordham 17
Dominic Randolph threw for 407 yards and five touchdowns.
Villanova 24, New Hampshire 13
Nova scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to win a surprisingly low-scoring game.
FRIDAY NIGHT
Penn 14, Princeton 9
Penn discovered a young quarterback.
And finally, that certain Hanover High junior finished 28th in the team-scoring portion of the New England Cross Country Championships and 61st overall of 259 runners as her team finished second to Glastonbury, Conn. If the teammate she usually runs neck-and-neck with hadn't been hurt and had run with her, it would have pushed Glastonbury's final runner one slot lower ... and Hanover would have won by a single point. If, if, if ...
That certain 5-foot Hanover High freshman fullback got in at the end of his team's lopsided loss in the state playoffs and, to quote mom, "made a great block vs. a really big guy and had a carry for no loss." (I love that last bit)
Now ... on the road to Hanover for the jayvee game. Check Big Green Alert premium tonight for a full report as well as a follow on the Cornell game if I have the time/energy.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
BGA Premium on Monday will see the regular Optimist-Pessimist feature replaced this week by an analysis that I think you'll find interesting.
